Wash Baserock: When Cleaner Base Is Worth Paying For

Standard Class 2 base carries a lot of fines, which is great for compaction but messy and slower to drain. Washed baserock trades some of that away.

What washing changes

Running base through a wash cuts the dust and fine particles. You get a cleaner material that handles nicer and lets water through more freely.

When to use it

Reach for wash baserock where dust is a problem, where you want a freer-draining base, or where a cleaner look matters. For pure structural compaction, standard base still wins.

Ask if you are unsure

Standard or washed depends on the job. Tell us what you are building and we will steer you to the right one.
